Shaun Kalscheur

Shaun Kalscheur serves as a Vice President in the Milwaukee office and part of the Specialty Tax service line. As of 2021, He has more than 13 years of experience in valuation services directly related to property tax and financial reporting. Shaun is responsible for management and execution of business valuations serving a variety of purposes. He provides direction, technical support and oversight on the valuation of complex, income-producing properties. Shaun has extensive valuation experience in the determination of the fair market value of machinery and equipment, industrial real property and entire operating facilities. He has performed valuations for numerous purposes including, but not limited to, ad valorem tax, leasing, purchase price allocation, insurance and finance, cost segregation and depreciation. Advisory services include litigation support and market research.

His area of expertise includes the valuation of oil refineries, power generation facilities (natural gas, cogeneration, coal, nuclear, renewable) and chemical plants. He also has experience in the valuation of water treatment and source of supply system assets, telecommunication infrastructure, steel mills, paper mills, refined product terminals, general manufacturing and support facilities and other complex properties. Most of his work is performed within the United States. However, Shaun has significant experience valuing complex properties internationally, to include Central and South America, and Saudi Arabia.

Shaun has spoken at the 2019 Western States Petroleum Association (WSPA) Property Tax Education Forum regarding the state of the refining industry.

Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Shaun was a Manager for the US Engineering and Economics Group of American Appraisal (American Appraisal was acquired by Duff & Phelps in February 2015). In this capacity, he performed as a project manager involving the coordination and compilation of various valuation services.

Shaun received his B.B.A. in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He also received a Master^s in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Shaun is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) with the American Society of Appraisers. He is also a member of the American Society of Appraisers.
