Katy Alexander

Katy is currently the Consignment Director at Lone Star Art Auction in Dallas, Texas, specializing in selling original Western, Texas, and American art. She enjoys all aspects of the auction business, but especially working directly with clients, their families, and estates to maximize value and provide personalized service. Katy holds a Master’s Degree in Art History from the University of Arizona and spent 12 years teaching Art History at the college level. She is currently teaching Art History for the University of South Alabama. Katy has worked as Director of a private Latin American art gallery based in San Antonio and New York, and then as Director of Specialty Auctions at a South Texas auction house, founding and running their Texas Art department 2013-2020; then co-owning Dallas Auction Gallery through 2023. Katy has been a member of ISA since 2014 and is also a former president of the board of the Foundation for Appraisal Education. Her appraisal experience began in San Antonio with an apprenticeship with Anne Alexander, CAPP in 2007.
