About Isabelle

Working with collectors, artists and curators in fine art, craft and design over the past decade, Isabelle’s insight and passion led her to develop CollectorAnonymous, an appraisal and collection management agency, to meet the specific needs of clients in the contemporary art market. From appraisals for private collectors to corporate/institutional collection development.

Isabelle Weiss began her career at a regional auction house, working as a cataloger and appraiser of fine and decorative art, later directing auction operations. Moving from the secondary to primary market, Isabelle Weiss founded I.M. WEISS GALLERY , presenting contemporary craft and design, which she directs in tandem with CollectorAnonymous in Detroit’s North End. Through I.M. WEISS GALLERY , Isabelle regularly publishes projects examining the value of collectible craft and design - from exhibitions to film, essays and a book.

Isabelle has contributed to publications including SURFACE magazine and presents lectures on emerging trends in art, craft and design collecting for organizations such as INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY OF APPRAISERS and Canadian Society of Decorative Arts. Isabelle Weiss earned her B.A. in History of Art from the University of Michigan and is an Accredited Appraiser through the International Society of Appraisers (ISA).

She is the past Chair of the Fine Art Committee of ISA and on the Board of Advisors for the MARSHALL M. FREDERICKS SCULPTURE MUSEUM .
