Carol A. Matesic ISA CAPP

Carol resides in Allen, Texas and conducts her estate liquidation and appraisal business primarily in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. One of the areas most active estate sellers, averaging 38 sales and online auctions per year, Carol has been in the business for over 30 years. Her thorough knowledge of both antiques and regular personal property was first gained as one of the original dealers at Antiqueland Mall in Plano (1995-2001). She gave up her retail business in 2001 to strictly concentrate on estate sales and appraisals of personal property, which also served to reduce potential conflicts of interest. Carol's appraisal work involves estate settlement, Federal Estate Tax valuations, insurance, divorce, charitable donations, and business reorganizations. She specializes in acting as a "team leader" for large multi-specialty appraisals.  She has also lectured on the value of antiques, collectibles and personal property to numerous church groups, AARP chapters, the Junior League of Dallas, local Bar Association groups and for the Private Client Group of a major Texas bank.

Carol is a Certified Member of the International Society of Appraisers (ISA), having successfully completed all core course studies, the Antiques and Residential Contents course and Private Client Services course.  She has taken specialty workshop courses on Rugs, American antiques, Folk art, Photographs, American Indian Collectibles, Ivory, Silver and Advanced Appraisal Writing.  She served as Membership Chairman, Treasurer, Vice President and President of the North Texas Chapter for two years in each office.   In 2015 she was recognized by being awarded the Ellen Amirkhan Award for her commitment to the promotion of the profession and the organization.  NTISA is the largest chapter in the organization.  She served as National Chapter Relations Committee Chairperson for 4 years. She takes an active role in continuing education training, maintains current USPAP Certification and attends ISA's annual conference most years.  She is a founding member of the Foundation for Appraisal Education noww ISA Education Foundation and serves as Vice President. She is also a member of the Dallas Estate Planning Council and Estate Planning Council of North Texas.
