About

Andrea Moody launched her fine art appraisal business in 1999, the same year she received accreditation through the International Society of Appraisers.

Before becoming an appraiser, she worked in several art galleries, including at Francine Seders Gallery, a long-time Seattle gallery with a tradition of showing artists affiliated with the University of Washington School of Art, including Jacob Lawrence.

As a graduate student in art history at Hunter College of the City University of New York she was employed at Midtown Payson Galleries and DC Moore Gallery. Both galleries featured the work of mid-century Magic Realists, including Paul Cadmus, as well as a large stable of contemporary artists. After earning her master's degree, she was hired by Donald Young Gallery as an assistant to video artist Gary Hill and later served as a research assistant for the catalogue raisonne published by the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg.

Between 2006 and 2011, she served as the Consulting Curator to the Abby Williams Hill Collection at the University of Puget Sound.

In addition to ISA, Andrea is a member of the International Art Market Studies Association and ArtTable.
