Lee began her career in the Antiques and Fine Art profession in 1989, when she joined the Boston based auction firm Grogan and Company. Lee received a Master of Arts Degree in Fine Art from Eastern Illinois University in 1987, completed the American Society of Appraisers Personal Property Appraisal Course Series in 2015, and became an accredited senior appraiser in the personal property discipline in February of 2019.
